About The Foundation .

In Loving Memory of my son Tyler Putnam, along with my Daughter Shannon, we have founded The Tyler Putnam Foundation.

The Tyler Putnam Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) public charity so the amount of your contribution is deductible to the full extent allowable. Consult your tax advisor with specific questions.

Tyler’s foundation will also provide information about Meningitis and the importance of vaccinations (Even though Tyler was vaccinated, like the flu there are many different strains of the virus) and the importance of Meningitis research including clinical studies that are being performed today that hopefully will provide a vaccine that would cover most, if not all strains of the virus.

Tyler’s dream was to play for his High School team, The Irondequoit Eagles then Junior Hockey then Division I Hockey and ultimately Pro Hockey.

Tyler was able to realize two of those dreams, having played on the Varsity team for IHS as an eighth and ninth grader then for his mentor Tony Maksymiu with the Maksymum Junior team here in Rochester. At the conclusion of his first Junior season, Tyler was well on his way of realizing his next dream. Tyler was offered roster spots on numerous Junior A teams from Rochester, New York to San Diego, California. He was very excited about the upcoming season and looking forward to possibly leaving home to pursue his dream. Tyler was also being heavily recruited to play Lacrosse in college.
